The first thing that happened after I was arrested and jailed, was; my case was taken to the Criminal District court in New Orleans. They found me guilty of not leaving the car for whites when I was asked to. The court also denied my claim that the Separate Car Act was unconstitutional. They said that Louisiana could regulate it's railroad company however they see fit as long as everyone got equal accommodations. This would be valid except that it's a blatant lie. There's no way that the cars for Blacks have the same "accommodations".
